A landlord is the owner, or lessor, who leases space to tenants in return for rent. The role carries duties: keeping the property maintained, meeting the standards set in the lease, and honoring the rest of its terms.<\/p>\n

Landlords range from individual investors to large institutions like REITs and pension funds.
