The lessor is the party in a lease who owns the property and grants someone else, the lessee, the right to use it in exchange for rent. Usually that is the property owner, or an entity holding the landlord’s interest under a master lease.<\/p>\n

Ownership stays with the lessor, along with the duties the lease assigns, which can include structural maintenance, property insurance, and keeping the building up to code. What the lessor owes and is owed is set by the lease itself and by landlord-tenant law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
