Hines announced that Denver-based Chipotle Mexican Bar and Grill will be opening a new headquarters in the city’s newest office building at 1144 Fifteenth<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The first Class AA office tower to be built in Denver in over three decades, 1144 Fifteenth<\/a>\u00a0will rise above 600 feet, and house Chipotle’s corporate offices on floors 20 through 24, with options to expand in order to accommodate future growth. The 15-year lease encompasses 152,000 square feet and is expected to provide sufficient capacity for all 450 Denver<\/a>-based Chipotle corporate employees.<\/p>\n

Chipotle’s space will feature a roomy employee lobby and social area, with a grand staircase that connects two of the floors. Employees will also have access to the 5,000-square-foot fitness center located on the second-floor mezzanine, and enjoy 360-degree unobstructed mountain and city views and around-the-clock security services.<\/p>\n

The LEED Gold-certified Central Denver office building<\/a> incorporates state-of-the-art air filtration systems and a 10% higher energy efficiency rate compared to other local structures. Completion of the building is slated for next year’s first quarter, and Chipotle’s move-in is scheduled for late 2018. Other notable Colorado<\/a>-based tenants include Gates Corp., Greenberg Taurig LLP, Optiv Security and Unicom Capital.<\/p>\n

Steve Ells, founder and CEO of Chipotle, stated: “Chipotle first started in Denver almost 25 years ago, as a single restaurant on Evans Avenue across from the University of Denver. Today, we have more than 3,500 restaurants, and more than 450 people who work out of our main office.
