Canadian asset and wealth management firm CI Financial Corp. recently announced that it would be doubling its planned footprint in the office tower at 830 Brickell Plaza in Miami. A Cushman & Wakefield team of Brian Gale, Ryan Holtzman and Andrew Trench worked on behalf of the property owner, while Donna Abood and Mark Robbins of Avison Young represented the tenant.<\/p>\n
CI Financial previously signed a lease for 20,000 square feet of office space on the tower\u2019s 48th floor. The initial deal, closed last year, included an office lease expansion option<\/a> for an additional 45,000 square feet. As a result, the corporation has chosen to expand its future U.S. headquarters with an additional floor, occupying a total of approximately 40,000 square feet of premium Miami office space for rent<\/a>.<\/p>\n According to the public statement of lease, this news further solidifies 830 Brickell as a destination of choice for financial, professional services, and global firms looking to either establish or grow their presence in South Florida. Developers OKO Group and Cain International estimate that the project will be completed later this year.
