The company will occupy 30,000 square feet of space in the 400,000-square-foot building owned by a partnership of Nuveen Real Estate and a Taconic Partners subsidiary called Elevate Research Properties.<\/p>\n<p>Taconic\u2019s\u00a0Matthew Weir\u00a0and\u00a0\u200b\u200bMatthew Malone\u00a0represented the landlords in-house, along with a CBRE team comprised of\u00a0Evan Haskell,\u00a0Jonathan Schifrin,\u00a0Robert Stillman,\u00a0Ali Gordon\u00a0and\u00a0Taylor Walker. David Stockel\u00a0of\u00a0CBRE negotiated on behalf of Graviton. The asking rent was $125 per square foot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to announce the opening of New York City\u2019s premier lab building and we are thrilled to welcome Graviton Bioscience as our first tenant partner,\u201d said Weir, president of Elevate. \u201cWest End Labs is the newest and most exciting hub in New York\u2019s life science ecosystem, raising the bar for scale, design, quality and amenities in research buildings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGraviton was attracted to the building\u2019s transformational repositioning that included high-end, pre-built lab suites; robust amenities; and [a] desirable location,\u201d\u00a0Stockel\u00a0said. \u201cOwnership\u2019s ability to accommodate our immediate requirement was critical.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Located between West 65th and West 66th streets, West End Labs previously housed ABC before the broadcaster vacated the premises two years ago. After obtaining financing to the tune of $300 million through an entity of Apollo Global Management, Nuveen and Taconic embarked on a two-year, <a href=\"https:\/\/therealdeal.com\/new-york\/2023\/07\/03\/taconic-lands-first-tenant-for-uws-life-sciences-hub\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">$600 million renovation effort<\/a> for the eight-story building.
