{"id":39455,"date":"2024-08-16T07:53:19","date_gmt":"2024-08-16T04:53:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.commercialcafe.com\/blog\/?p=39455"},"modified":"2025-11-12T17:08:57","modified_gmt":"2025-11-12T14:08:57","slug":"bain-capital-expands-boston-back-bay-headquarters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.commercialcafe.com\/blog\/bain-capital-expands-boston-back-bay-headquarters\/","title":{"rendered":"Bain Capital Expands Boston Back Bay Headquarters"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\">[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]Leading multi-asset alternative investment firm Bain Capital recently announced the signing of a lease renewal and expansion of its Boston headquarters offices.<\/p>\n<p>The newly inked lease includes nearly 380,000 square feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialcafe.com\/office\/us\/ma\/boston\/\">Boston office space<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bisnow.com\/boston\/news\/deal-sheet\/this-weeks-boston-deal-sheet-bain-capital-to-expand-hq-at-200-clarendon-125391\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reportedly<\/a> marked one of the largest leasing deals of the year for the Massachusetts market.<\/p>\n<p>Boston-based real estate investment trust BXP (formerly Boston Properties) acquired the tower in 2010 for $930 million and is the landlord that initially signed Bain Capital to the tenant roster back in 2011. As of 2021, Bain occupied roughly 270,000 square feet in the building and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/boston\/news\/2023\/05\/05\/bain-capital-looking-for-big-office-boston.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">reportedly<\/a> started shopping for as much as 400,000 square feet last year.<\/p>\n<p>Formerly known as the John Hancock tower, 200 Clarendon is the tallest office building in New England and incorporates more than 1.7 million square feet across 62 stories. Featuring 50,000-square-foot floorplates, above-standard ceiling heights, and floor-to-ceiling windows, the tower offers sweeping, 360\u00b0 views of Boston and the surrounding region. Graded class A+, the office space here is LEED Gold-certified and will soon be complemented by an amenity exclusive to clients within the building: The 200 Club is slated to open in 2025 and will offer a curated hospitality and wellness experience designed to enhance productivity and well-being.
