Rising Ground, a prominent human services organization, is relocating its downtown Brooklyn office to 111 Livingston St. The nonprofit has signed a 15-year lease for 27,147 square feet on the 19th and 20th floors of the building.<\/p>\n

The move to 111 Livingston St. will allow Rising Ground to consolidate its Brooklyn operations and provide a more efficient and accessible workspace for its staff.<\/p>\n

An Open Impact Real Estate team \u2014 which included Alexander Smith, Stephen Powers,\u00a0Lindsay Ornstein and\u00a0Kendall Elliott \u2014 represented Rising Ground in the lease negotiations. The property\u2019s owner, The Leser Group, represented itself. Asking rents for the building were reported to be nearly \u00a0$50 per square foot<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 22-story building\u2019s tenant roster lists the likes of The Legal Aid Society, parking garage operator\u00a0Icon Parking\u00a0and the\u00a0State University of New York Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center.<\/p>\n

The property at 111 Livingston St. has undergone significant renovations in recent years to address previous issues related to building conditions. Now, the building offers a modern and functional workspace for tenants.<\/p>\n

Rising Ground is currently located at 151 Lawrence St. and is projected to move into its new premises by the second quarter of 2025. The offices at 111 Livingston St. will house the human services organization\u2019s family and youth support programs, while its administrative staff will continue to operate from its 30,000-square-foot headquarters at 1333 Broadway in Manhattan.<\/p>\n

\u201c111 Livingston Street ensures that Rising Ground can continue its critical work with a professional space that remains highly accessible for staff and visitors,\u201d Smith said.<\/p>\n

Rising Ground intends to streamline its operations by consolidating additional offices in the Bronx while maintaining its presences in Queens and Harlem. The nonprofit currently operates 143 locations nationwide. Its New York City offices serve as crucial hubs for its programs and services.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past year, we have invested resources to strengthen our organization and our capacity to deliver the highest quality of services, and this new space will allow us to continue to help Brooklyn children, adults, and families rise above adversity and find positive paths forward,\u201d said Lissa Southerland, the nonprofit\u2019s chief operating officer.<\/p>\n
