Local commercial real estate investment and development firm Headwall Investments joined forces with Houston-based real estate owner and developer Fifth Corner for the acquisition of the Sunset Ridge Shopping Center in San Antonio.<\/p>\n

Purchased in an off-market transaction, the deal combined Headwall\u2019s deep local expertise with Fifth Corner\u2019s demonstrated approach to preserving and enhancing legacy retail properties. Built in 1950, Sunset Ridge Shopping Center incorporates more than 100,000 square feet of San Antonio retail space<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The property\u2019s new owners plan to build upon Sunset Ridge\u2019s long-time relevance in the region through careful curation and stewardship that honors existing community connection, while also ensuring continued vitality.<\/p>\n

Located on New Braunfels Avenue in East San Antonio \u2014 a high-barrier submarket that serves the tri-city area of Alamo Heights, Terrell Hills, and Olmos Park \u2014 the landmark retail center was one of San Antonio\u2019s first and is currently one of the region\u2019s most established neighborhood destinations. This recent sale is the first time that Sunset Ridge has changed hands since 2003.<\/p>\n

Throughout its life of more than seven decades, Sunset Ridge has outlasted challenging cycles in its strategic location and served as anchor to an affluent trade area that boasts strong daily demand patterns, an entrenched neighborhood identity, and multigenerational patronage.<\/p>\n
