Charles Schwab & Co. recently celebrated the topping out of the first building at its new Gracy Farms Lane campus, within the bustling Austin office market<\/a>. Attending the ceremony were Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Austin Mayor Steve Adler, alongside Charles Schwab executives. The officials signed the beam that will be hoisted by crane to top the second office building at the 50-acre campus, currently under construction.<\/p>\n

Roughly 1,000 Charles Schwab Austin employees will be moving from the existing facility at Research Park into the 469,000-square-foot Gracy Farms campus by June 2018. The workers will join the 600 employees who moved into the campus last spring.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s new North Austin<\/a> regional headquarters will include two five-story office buildings, an amenity building featuring a caf\u00e9 and large assembly\/training center, as well as a parking garage. The first building to top out at the site is the former Tivoli building at 2309 Gracy Farms Lane. Charles Schwab acquired the property from IBM in August 2014, and embarked on a renovation effort that was completed in 2016. The campus\u2019 location provides easy access to The Domain<\/a>, a popular shopping and leisure destination in Austin. Additionally, as is the case with all other Charles Schwab developments, the new campus will incorporate sustainable systems and materials and is expected to earn LEED Gold certification from the USGBC. The development is scheduled for completion in February 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe project is an architectural reflection of what makes Schwab unique: its heritage of dependability, innovation and forward thinking,\u201d Larry Speck, senior principal with architectural firm Page (the project architect of record), said in a statement. \u201cStarting with an innately beautiful and memorable site, the campus\u2019 design elements will incorporate consciousness of climate, topography, vegetation, views and local materials to help merge buildings and landscape into a continuous indoor\/outdoor experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
