How to Get Published on CommercialCafé

What we’re looking for

Are you passionate about all things real estate and always up to date on the latest industry news and trends? Do you enjoy writing about buildings, deals, developments, and current market conditions? Feel free to pitch us any topic you want–as long as it’s CRE-related.

We’re on the lookout for contributors who have a knack for real estate in general and commercial real estate in particular. If you think you fit the bill, then just keep on reading.

What we publish

All submissions should be specifically targeted toward CommercialCafé’s audience, which includes business owners, investors, managers, but also entrepreneurs and freelancers. Since you’re writing for industry professionals, you should incorporate a formal style of writing, following the guiding principles behind the Associated Press style–consistency, clarity, brevity, and accuracy. Stick to the facts and avoid unnecessary jargon, vagueness, gratuitous words or quotes.

How to submit a guest post

  • Send your idea (rough, partial draft or short pitch) to contributors@commercialcafe.com, tell us a bit about yourself and your experience, and why you think you’d be a good fit;
  • Keep in mind that we only accept original content–we don’t publish anything that’s been published elsewhere;
  • You can also send in samples of your previous work, if applicable, and a short author bio and headshot;
  • Stories should be sent in a Word file format and contain approximately 800 to 1,000 words;
  • All guest posts should be accompanied by a Creative Commons image with a minimum 1000px width;
  • Give credit where credit is due–always name and link back to the sources you used in the story.

Do note that we are not able to respond to all queries, so you’ll only hear from us if your idea is something we’re interested in running.
