Washington D.C. landed fourth, with a total score of 55.7 points. D.C. boasts an impressively diverse economy, in which 12% of jobs are in STEM occupations. 42% of these jobs are held by women – which placed D.C. and Durham together in first place for the degree of representation of women in STEM.
