Belleville is a western suburb of Metro Detroit located on the peninsular shores of Belleville Lake in Wayne County, Michigan. Belleville Lake is six miles long and covers over 1,000 acres. The City of Belleville is situated on the south shore of the Lake, offering 1.5 miles of lake frontage. The Belleville Area includes the City of Belleville, the Charter Township of Van Buren and Sumpter Township, and is home to over 40,000 residents. The city is 18 miles southeast of Ann Arbor and 20 miles southwest of Detroit. Belleville is located just south of Interstate 94 and is surrounded by Van Buren Township. The proximity to Belleville Lake and favorable location along the I-94 corridor between Detroit Metro Airport and Ann Arbor make Belleville the ideal place to live and work.
