Lordsburg is the county seat of Hidalgo County, New Mexico. The city was founded in 1880, 32 years before New Mexico was granted statehood. Lordsburg is most well known as the birthplace of New Mexico's state song "O Fair New Mexico", which was written by Pat Garrett's daughter.
