Situated in Suffolk's Downtown Business District on historic West Washington Street bounded by Mansion Row to the West and Main Street's Business District to the East. The current library will be demolished for additionally available public surface parking.The First lady of Suffolk is an approximately 10,400 square foot Queen Anne Victorian Mansion originally built by the Causey family as a home in 1907. It operated as a funeral home from 1937 thru 2008. This majestic home was then restored starting in 2008 to its original grandeur by Heirloom Homes, a nationally recognized restoration company featured on HGTV and other national publications. Since 2009 the property has operated as a wedding and event venue offering full catering service. In 2012 the approximately 2,800 square foot Crystal ballroom was added that can hold up to 185 guests with an accessible storage area above. The large Gazebo was returned to the property and wrap around porch with decking areas improved for outside events. Other amenities include a three car garage used for storage, 9 bathrooms, second floor changing areas for the bride and groom and a kitchen for catering.
