Emmes Corp Expands Operations in Greater DC

Rockville, Md.-based Emmes Corp. announced that it is expanding its operations and opening a second office location in Greater Washington D.C.

The biotechnology company is celebrating its 40th anniversary in stride—ranked as one of the best workplaces in Maryland for the second year in a row by the Washington Post and receiver of the Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval for the third consecutive year. Emmes does well to keep its employees happy. In fact, deciding to open an office in Frederick was largely based on employee feedback and accommodating those who had a long commute to the company’s current headquarters at Gateway Tower in Rockville.

Emmes CEO Dr. Anne Lindblad stated: “Opening a new office during our 40th anniversary year is especially gratifying. Our reputation in clinical research attracts great people, and that’s a key reason for our expansion. Offering employees the choice of office location supports our priority on nurturing a family-friendly culture.”

The company hosted an open house for employees and their families, while the new location was being put together and invited several local vendors, including daycare providers, to collectively discuss what amenities would serve workers best.

Leasing the first floor of the Frederick, Md. office building at 5280 Corporate Drive brings the company’s location count to five—two offices in Maryland, two in India and one in Canada.
