Tenants and investors alike are increasingly recognizing the benefits of energy-efficient, green building practices. The 2017 National Green Building Adoption Index surveyed the 30 largest office markets in the country, to gauge the change over time in adoption of ecologically minded development in the commercial real estate sector. The report found that, between 2005 and 2017, the percentage of green office space across these 30 top markets increased from below 5% to nearly 40%.

While Fresno was not large enough to make the top 30 list, developers in the city have gotten on board with this construction revolution – nearly 5% of the office properties in town that are at least 50,000 square feet large are green program compliant.
