Chino, CA Economic Overview
Located in San Bernardino County, Chino is part of the Inland Empire - along with the neighboring cities of Riverside, Ontario, San Bernardino and Chino Hills. Despite Chino's relatively small population of just over 82,000 residents, the city boasts some impressive statistics, including a median annual household income of nearly $73,000, a median resident age of 35.4 years, and a steadily growing employment rate. Chino is both an agricultural and dairy center, serving much of Southern California and the Southwestern U.S. The City of Chino is decidedly pro-growth, with the local government making it easy for business of all types and sizes to set up shop and locate space in the Chino commercial real estate market.
While the City of Chino itself has a tiny employment pool of just under 34,000 workers, as part of the Inland Empire, countless employees commute to and from Chino from neighboring cities (with some even being classified as 'super commuters' as discussed in the Commuting Time section below). Agricultural and dairy play an important role, as do jobs in management, business services, science and arts, sales, office and general service industries in Chino.
